This was Tracey Ullman’s Emmy-winning Sunday night series that launched the Fox Network and introduced The Simpsons. In the piece Jeff wrote, Dear Taxpayer, Dan Castalanetta plays a guy who gets summoned to the I.R.S. for a tax audit. The auditor, Tracey Ullman, turns out to be his mother, who he hasn’t called in a long time.
