Jeff Baron had a long and varied career at Nickelodeon. He started on the business side, as the Southeast Marketing Director. Here he is with his staff.
When he left the corporate world to be a full time writer, Jeff created the following promo for the Nick at Nite show “Mr. Ed.”
Jeff’s next assignment at Nickelodeon was writing, producing and co-directing the first year of the Kids’ Choice Awards, then known as Big Ballot.
Here’s Jeff with the hosts and makeup artist.
Finally, Jeff had a series development deal with Nickelodeon for a show on Nick at Night that he created, called Bob’s Daytime at Nighttime. It was about a young guy who leaves his corporate job to be a full time writer. His first day of being a writer, instead of writing, he watches daytime TV for the first time and gets hooked on it. Each night he shows his scenes from his favorite shows from that day.
The shows are all fictional versions of daytime TV shows. It’s really a sketch comedy show with a recurring cast.
Sadly, this happened during a strike by the Writers Guild, and Jeff could not write the show. It would have been very funny.
