Almost Grown

Almost Grown was a CBS hour-long series created by David Chase, who went on to create The Sopranos.

Each episode mixed comedy and drama. Timothy Daly and Eve Gordon were high school sweethearts who got married, had kids, then got divorced. They continued to live near each other and remained part of each other’s lives.

Each episode started in the present, then flashed back to some incident in the past 20 years that helps explain the current conflicts between the characters.

Tim Daly played a radio station guy, and music was an important part of each show. Jeff’s episode flashed back to the Watergate hearings and featured the theme from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
